The Ampule Containers
The ampule containers from Prometheus—the field of vessels standing before the Engineer head in the temple chamber. Two thousand of them across three sets, finished by two pairs of hands: mine and my ‘true artist’ associate, from the approved test pieces through to the last production unit. The problem was metal that had been underground for two thousand years and still had to look like it was made by something with better technology than ours. Not rusted, not corroded—dense, cold, and slightly wrong.
PR-01 — The Ampule Container Finish (the standard)
Chrome over stippled brown ground. The base finish, the one that covered the bulk of the two thousand. Cold graphite with the brown reading through.
PR-02 — The Copper Ampule Finish
Coppery chrome dominant over the same broken undercoat—warm metal against the cold.
PR-03 — The Streaked Ampule Finish
Dark stipple and heavy black streaking worked over chrome sections, with burnt outlining where the metal reads as broken down.
As with all the paint effects/art finishing, no two are finished identically.
